Skype/FaceTime

One additional option you have to use during the daily five is using FaceTime or Skye during read to somesome. Students could read to a friend in another class, a book buddy in another grade level, another teacher, or a family member. While this does take a bit more planning the results are pretty cool!

Tips:

- Decide who will be placing the call and at what time. 

- Teach students to flip the camera so their partner can see the book they are hearing.

- Use headphone during the call to keep the volume down.
- Create an account for your classroom so your personal account can't be accessed by the students
- Use your Google Voice number as your mobile number
